AWAKEN ACADEMY

As we mentioned previously, Awaken Academy is dedicated to Education through Adventure. We understand that all children have unique ways in which they learn best. Awaken Academy is on a mission to help children who struggle with learning in a traditional classroom setting. Our approach to learning is unique in that it combines classroom instruction with practical, hands-on experiences in order to stimulate cognitive reception, brain development and enjoyment of the instructional process.

Through various venues and projects including, but not limited to, raising chickens, and operating an on-site market, our program encourages logical and sequential thinking, random evaluation, analysis and synthesis, behavior responsibility, and other necessary skills for cognitive and social success.

Other examples of how we implement these strategies may include:

   - Cognitive Therapy with on-site professional counselors

   - Horse Therapy

   - Involvement in school-sustained business ventures

   - Community service projects

   - Small classroom sizes 

   - Higher teacher-to-student ratios 

   - Project themed and hands-on learning

   - Implementation of Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment

   - Exposure to agriculture, mechanics, woodworking and culinary arts

   - Music and fine arts

   - Certified teachers with specialties in math, literacy, and learning 

     disabilities

   - Expose children to many skills and trades to recognize and grow

     their individual gifting's

   - Partnering with community trades to provide apprenticeships and internships
