The Retired Minister

Updated: Jan 4, 2022

What does the Bible say about retirement? You may be surprised.

Numbers 8:23

The Lord said to Moses, “This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more shall come to take part in the work at the tent of meeting, but at the age of fifty, they must retire from their regular service and work no longer. They may assist their brothers in performing their duties at the tent of meeting, but they themselves must not do the work.

The Levites were the ones responsible for all of the events and workings of the worship that took place in the "Tent of Meeting". This was a physically, intellectually and emotionally challenging occupation. Similarly, ministers, missionaries, pastors, etc. carry a huge burden on their shoulders as they lead the physical organization of worship in their respective callings. We believe that retirement should be a reasonable expectation for those who need it! That is why we are helping top create a place for under-financed ministers and community service workers who have devoted their lives to Christian ministry to be able to live without the stress or burden of housing expenses.

It is our desire and mission to create a development, or a community, of homes for ministry retirees. It doesn't stop there, though. Stay tuned for more information about this vision and how God is putting the pieces of the puzzle together :- )
